Mikael Colombu

I first stumbled upon Mikael on YouTube on The Weeknd's music video 'The Knowing'. It instantly grabbed me as it was so visually engulfing and really inspired me to want to create a video as innovative as this.

I really like the special effects that have been applied and the stop motion style of some parts. I love the way that the music goes in time with the visuals which has made me realise that I need to think carefully about what music I have to go with the feel of my film. The amount of references to cultural, historical and contemporary factors makes it imperative for me that I should be able to think of a unique story for this project.

Beginnings

So yesterday I began my Final Major Project Research and Development unit and I have decided on the idea of creating a short fashion video. I want there to be hypermodernist aspects and themes of fairytalesque features. The images will be highly stylised with the filming, editing, animating, hair, make-up and clothes creatively and professionally created.
I have yet to develop a proper storyboard but this is just a place to help view my ideas and expand.
